TechDEC
Partner named for both Extreme Networks and Netskope in Brazil.
A Brazilian integrator that appears on the partner side of two vendors at once - Extreme on the networking side and Netskope on the security side. That combination is the ordinary shape of the Brazilian channel: the same house sells the network and the control that inspects it, because the customer buying one is the customer who has to operate the other.
Named on two vendor rosters at once: it lists Extreme among its technology partners and has deployed Extreme switching in customer projects, and it also appears as a current Netskope partner. That pairing is the ordinary shape of the Brazilian channel - the same house sells the network and the control that inspects it, because the customer buying one is the customer who has to operate the other.
TechDEC was founded in December 1996 in Porto Alegre, starting out on Avenida Taquara in the Petropolis district, and its customers are concentrated in the south of the country. Healthcare is the segment it has gone deepest into - it holds a HIMSS Analytics certification and describes its own range as running from patient identification to data centre infrastructure, which is an unusually specific span for a regional integrator.
In 2004 it opened a branch in Florida, and the reason given is imports: a US arm shortens and cheapens the process of getting equipment into Brazil. That is the THIRD company in this catalogue with the same arrangement - Grupo Binario runs a warehouse in Miami, and the equipment in the Operacao Persona case also moved through Florida. Selling network hardware in Brazil has long meant solving an import problem first, and the lawful version of that solution looks structurally similar to the unlawful one.
