Proof - managed detection, and another one absorbed
Rio de Janeiro security firm acquired by SEK in 2024.
Proof was a Rio de Janeiro information-security company with more than fifteen years of activity, offering managed detection and response alongside governance, risk and compliance consultancy, and it had built its own platform. SEK acquired it in April 2024.
The acquirer is the part that completes a pattern this timeline has been recording. SEK, which has its own entry here, was itself assembled by an investment manager from the union of two existing security companies - NeoSecure of Chile and Proteus of Brazil - funded to consolidate the Latin American market, and had already bought a cloud-security startup before this deal.
So the sequence for Brazilian security firms of this size is now well documented here from four separate directions: Tempest to an aircraft manufacturer, Cipher to a physical-security multinational, Skybox to a competitor, and Proof to a private-equity roll-up. The buyers differ; the outcome for an independent specialist does not.
