Palo Alto Networks' cloud-security family, announced in May 2019: securing cloud workloads, cloud access, and the WAN that reaches them.
Prisma bundles the company's cloud bets under one brand: Prisma Cloud, the code-to-cloud platform assembled from acquisitions such as RedLock, Twistlock, and PureSec; Prisma Access, the cloud-delivered SASE/SSE service; and Prisma SD-WAN, the former CloudGenix, acquired in 2020. Announced in May 2019, three months after Cortex, it completed the three-family structure alongside Strata. The name earns a glossary entry because it collides constantly outside this context: Prisma is also a popular open-source TypeScript ORM, and neither product will do the other's job.
