Vendor lineage
HighCast - the consultancy that built a training company
Brazilian network consultancy working on carrier backbones across Latin America.
HighCast Informatica was founded in 2003 by four telecommunications consultants and worked on carrier networks across Latin America - the Telefonica and Oi backbones, the launch of Live TIM and Telmex Mexico, audits at CTBC and ETB in Colombia, and IPv6 projects at three Brazilian operators.
The interesting part of its history is what the work produced. Its own account says the specialisation of its consultants created market demand for technical training, and in 2008 the partners answered that by founding inLearn Educacao - which is a specific and repeatable pattern: a consultancy accumulates knowledge that customers begin asking to be taught, and teaching becomes a business rather than a favour.
That sequence explains something about how vendor certification actually reaches engineers in a country. The training centre did not arrive because a manufacturer opened one; it arrived because a consultancy had already done the work and was being asked to explain it.
