Stands for: Hackers to Hackers Conference
Hackers to Hackers Conference: Latin America's oldest security research conference - Sao Paulo, every year since 2004.
H2HC is the deep-technical anchor of the Brazilian calendar: vulnerability research, exploitation, reverse engineering, hardware - the research end of the spectrum, with international headliners alongside Brazilian researchers and the H2HC University training days. Its reputation for a playfully 'hostile' hallway culture is worn as a badge: it is the room where the technical bar is highest.
H2HC is the deep-technical anchor of the Brazilian security calendar: vulnerability research, exploitation, reverse engineering and low-level work, presented to an audience expected to follow it. It has run since 2004, which makes it one of the longest-standing technical conferences in Latin America.
Its defining choice is to refuse to broaden. Many conferences drift toward management tracks and vendor keynotes as they grow, because that is where the sponsorship is, and H2HC's refusal to do that keeps a specific kind of work possible: research that takes months, cannot be summarized in a slide, and has an audience of a few hundred people worldwide who genuinely understand it.
That matters more in a country whose researchers are largely invisible to the international scene. Deep technical work needs a venue where it will be judged by peers rather than by novelty, and without one the researchers either present abroad or stop. Sustaining that venue for two decades, in the same city, with the same standard, is the kind of unglamorous institutional work that fields depend on and rarely credit.
