Oscium

Oklahoma City instruments for the field tech's tablet, and since 2024 the home of Wi-Spy, inSSIDer and Chanalyzer.

Oscium is an Oklahoma City hardware company founded in 2010 by two brothers, Matt Lee and Bryan Lee, making portable test tools for field technicians. In 2023 it released the Nomad, which it describes as an ultra-portable Wi-Fi 7 network analyser with four simultaneous radios, and in 2024, in its own words, its mission took its biggest step: it acquired MetaGeek, the team behind inSSIDer, Chanalyzer and Wi-Spy.

The MetaGeek purchase was announced from Oklahoma City on 7 October 2024, with Bryan Lee as president of Oscium leading the combined company and MetaGeek's co-founder Brian Tuttle returning to run the software side; financial details were not disclosed. Oscium said at the time that it had spent over sixteen years turning complex technology into tools that work better for everyone, and the MetaGeek pages now live on its site.

The reason a wireless instrument maker belongs on a networking record is the same reason MetaGeek does: the spectrum analyser and the Wi-Fi scanner stopped being bench equipment and became something an engineer carries to a site survey. Oscium's Nomad and the MetaGeek tools are the current form of that idea.
