SBSeg (Simpósio Brasileiro de Segurança)

acronym

securityevents

The Brazilian Symposium on Information and Computer System Security, run annually by the Brazilian Computer Society - the academic counterpart to the country's practitioner conferences, now past its twenty-fifth edition.

It is where Brazilian security research gets peer review, and where the CERT.br measurement work and university groups publish. The gap between it and the hacker conferences is narrower here than in most countries - the same names appear at both - which is one of the healthier features of the local scene, since academic and practitioner communities in security elsewhere often ignore each other entirely.

Also known as: simposio brasileiro de seguranca da informacao, sbc, academic security symposium
