Cloud Confidence Index - Netskope's 0-100 risk rating for tens of thousands of cloud applications, scored against objective criteria adapted from the Cloud Security Alliance's guidance and grouped into enterprise-readiness categories such as certifications and compliance, data protection, access control, auditability, disaster recovery, and legal/privacy terms.
CCI levels (excellent, high, medium, low, poor) are usable directly in policy - steering, coaching, or blocking by risk tier rather than by naming apps one at a time. Named verbatim in the Netskope blueprints' monitoring domain, and the subject of this site's Cloud Confidence Index article.
The Cloud Confidence Index is Netskope's risk rating for cloud applications, scoring each on attributes such as encryption, certifications, data ownership terms and administrative controls. Its purpose is to turn discovery into a decision.
The reason a rating like this exists at all is scale. An organization's shadow IT discovery typically returns hundreds or thousands of distinct services, which is far too many to evaluate individually, and a score gives a defensible basis for tiering them into sanctioned, tolerated and blocked. The honest caveat is that any single vendor's index reflects that vendor's criteria and weightings, so it is a starting point for policy rather than an objective measurement of risk.
