What it does
Two directions, auto-detected. Paste Greek text and the tool decomposes it letter by letter - name, transliteration, the final-sigma note when it applies - and transliterates the whole. Type letter names (lambda; mu omega) and the tool produces the glyphs with their usage notes. Below the converter sits the full 24-letter reference table: glyph pair, name, modern romanization with the classical form in parentheses where it differs, and the place engineers most likely met each letter.
The engineering connection
The Greek alphabet is the second alphabet of every technical field: mu is micro, Omega is ohms, lambda is wavelength and the lambda calculus, Sigma sums and sigma deviates, Delta is change itself. The table says where each letter earns its keep.
Transliteration, stated
The tool follows the widely taught modern scheme (beta to v, eta to i); where the classical romanization differs (beta to b, eta to e) both are shown, because a tool that silently picks one is guessing on your behalf.
