NeoSecure - the Chilean half

Chilean security company, leader in its home market, absorbed into SEK.

NeoSecure was the leading information security company in Chile, with operations across Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Brazil. It passed from The Rohatyn Group to Patria Investimentos in July 2021 and was merged with Proteus to form SEK in 2023.

Its trajectory is a compact description of how a Latin American technology company grows: lead one national market, extend into the neighbouring ones, and shift from projects to recurring services - which is what makes the business valuable to a buyer, because recurring revenue is what can be modelled.

It is also the second Chilean company on this timeline to end up owning or being merged with Brazilian security operations, after NovaRed. The regional market moves in both directions, and rarely appears in accounts written from outside it.

Founded in Chile in 1999, it was acquired alongside Proteus in 2021 by an investment fund assembling what it described as the largest specialised information security platform in Latin America, spanning Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru and Colombia. The pattern is the one this timeline records repeatedly in the 2020s: national specialists with twenty years behind them, combined into a regional group by capital rather than by merger of equals.
