An Ethernet fabric technology that builds shortest-path forwarding using IS-IS.

Shortest Path Bridging MAC mode (IEEE 802.1aq) creates a loop-free, shortest-path Ethernet fabric controlled by the IS-IS routing protocol, replacing spanning tree with true multipath forwarding across a provider or campus backbone.
