The executive end of the Brazilian security calendar: risk, governance, budget and the conversations that happen between people who sign things rather than configure them. It runs a Sao Paulo flagship alongside regional editions - seven of them in 2024 - which makes it one of the few commercial circuits that actually reaches beyond the capital consistently. Its usefulness depends entirely on what you go for. As a place to learn a technique it is the wrong room; the technical events on the same calendar exist for that. As a place to understand what the market believes, what buyers are being told, and which concerns have reached the level where somebody with a budget is worried about them, it is unusually informative - and those are genuinely different kinds of knowledge that engineers routinely conflate. A practitioner who has never sat in an executive security conference tends to be surprised by how much of the decision-making they complain about is visible in advance, discussed openly, months before it lands on them as a policy. The general observation the Brazilian calendar supports better than most is that a security scene needs both kinds of event and they do not substitute for one another. The technical conferences transmit skill; the executive ones transmit priorities. An engineer who attends only the first is repeatedly surprised by decisions, and an executive who attends only the second is repeatedly surprised by reality.
