AltaVista's web crawler, written by Louis Monier at DEC.

The half of AltaVista that actually stressed the hardware, which was the original point of the project. Switched off around 2004 when Yahoo replaced the engine with its own, leaving the AltaVista brand as a front end for someone else's results.
