A flat 1U rack-mount server or switch - the form factor of a large pizza, stacked by the dozen.

The visual vocabulary of every datacenter aisle: racks of pizza boxes, occasionally interrupted by a chassis. The shape won because it slices compute into rack-unit-sized, individually replaceable pieces.
