The Computer Security Resource Center, NIST's publication hub for its security standards, guidance and reference data.

The practical value is that it is the canonical location. Security standards circulate as PDFs attached to emails and quoted in slide decks, and those copies go stale silently while keeping the same document number. If a control, a definition or a framework matters enough to cite, cite it from here, where the version and its status are stated. This is also where you discover that a publication you have been quoting was withdrawn or superseded years ago.
