The EU directive massively expanding cybersecurity obligations across essential and important sectors.

NIS2 (Directive (EU) 2022/2555) widens the original NIS scope to far more sectors, tightens incident-reporting timelines, and adds management accountability with real penalties. It is transposed into each member state's national law, and its arrival is why vendor trust centers and blogs (Extreme's among them) now foreground NIS2 readiness for European customers.
