Stands for: Latinoware - the Latin American free software congress at Itaipu

The Latin American congress of free software and open technologies, held since 2004 at the Itaipu Technology Park in Foz do Iguaçu.

Latinoware grew alongside Brazil's strong free-software movement into one of the region's largest FLOSS gatherings: community, government, and academia meeting at the Itaipu binational dam's technology park for talks, tutorials, and install fests across every corner of the open ecosystem - kernels to content licenses. Its location is its symbol: open technology discussed at the border of three countries, at a monument to shared infrastructure. For the networking trade it matters as the place where Linux, BSD, and open tooling communities that underpin every NOC meet their Latin American contributors.

Also known as: latinoware, congresso latino-americano de software livre
