Stands for: GTS and GTER - NIC.br's network security and network engineering working groups
NIC.br's twin working groups - GTS for network security, GTER for network engineering and operations: the free meetings where Brazil's internet operators compare notes, twice a year, for decades.
GTER (Grupo de Trabalho em Engenharia e Operacao de Redes) is the older sibling; GTS (Grupo de Trabalho em Seguranca de Redes) grew from a GTER security subgroup launched at Comdex-SP in 1996 - the same lineage that produced CERT.br in 1997. The joint meetings, free to attend and streamed, anchor the Semana de Infraestrutura da Internet no Brasil each December (GTER 55 | GTS 41 in 2026) and carry the country's operational memory: BGP incidents, DDoS seasons, IPv6 migration, all presented by the operators who lived them. The Premio Alberto Courrege Gomide honors the community's technical elders. If Brazilian network operations has a hallway track, it is here.
