The IPsec protocol that encrypts and authenticates packet payloads.

Encapsulating Security Payload (RFC 4303) is the IPsec component that provides confidentiality and integrity for tunneled traffic. A capture taken outside the tunnel sees only ESP, not the protected inner packets.
