The UK government's baseline cyber-hygiene certification, run by the NCSC.
Cyber Essentials sets five basic technical controls (firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection, patch management); Cyber Essentials Plus adds hands-on verification. It is deliberately entry-level - required for many UK public-sector contracts - and appears on vendor trust centers as evidence of the fundamentals, distinct from the depth of ISO 27001.
