ISH Tecnologia is a Brazilian security and technology company whose portfolio leads with governance, risk and compliance, business continuity planning, privacy and risk management rather than with products.
That ordering is a statement about who buys security in a regulated Brazilian enterprise. The technical control is chosen after somebody has decided which risks are being accepted, which are being transferred and which the regulator requires evidence of - and the firm that runs that conversation is usually the one that then implements the answer.
It is the counterpart to the appliance-first story most of this timeline tells: the same estates, approached from the audit rather than from the rack.
It was founded in 1996 in Vitoria, Espirito Santo, and began as an information technology consultancy rather than a security company. The move into security came later, which is the usual direction of travel: the firms that ended up defending Brazilian networks mostly started by building them.
