Versim - distribution and training, Poland

Polish distributor and authorised training centre for Extreme Networks.

Versim has been on the Polish market since 2005 and is, by turnover, one of the largest distributors of network solutions there. It distributes advanced networking and IT security technologies, wired and wireless, from Poznań - and since 2016 has also run an Authorized Training Center, certified for Extreme Networks, Techstep and Gigaset Pro.

Versim is a Poznan value-added distributor, on the market since 2005 and by its own account one of the largest networking distributors in Poland by turnover. It sells only to the channel - integrators, resellers, service providers - and never to the customer at the end of it, which is the classic distributor position, and it holds Extreme Networks authorisation for Poland and, since 2023, for Bulgaria.

The part worth studying is the training arm, and the order in which the two arrived. Versim ATP has operated as an authorised training centre since 2016; the distribution agreement with Extreme came in 2017. The company was teaching the platform before it was authorised to sell it. That sequence says what the training centre is for: it is not an add-on to distribution but the mechanism by which the distributor makes its own channel competent enough to be worth supplying.

The centre describes itself as the first, and therefore the most experienced, training centre in EMEA and APAC for the Extreme Certified Professional programme, and one authorised to sit the ECP examinations. It offers every Extreme certification path, on-site bootcamps in Poznan or at the client, and delivers in Polish and English. In March 2025 it added CWNP authorisation for wireless, and it runs an ongoing Fabric Best Practice series and a Smarter Partner programme aimed at the newest and least-established tier of Extreme partners - the ones most likely to need the help and least likely to pay a third party for it.

Two of the four named trainers are also the distributor's own security systems engineers, which is the arrangement the site calls knowledge supported by practice. The instructor who has just finished an implementation is teaching from the implementation, and the partner in the room is being trained by the person who will pick up the phone when the deployment goes wrong. That is a different product from a training company's instructor, and it is the reason a distributor runs its own centre rather than referring partners elsewhere.

The portfolio around Extreme is small and deliberate: Cambium for wireless backhaul, Techstep for mobile device management, Check Point and Hillstone for security, Gigaset for voice - and NACVIEW, a Polish network access control system, sold with an explicit NIS2 compliance argument. A domestic NAC product in a distributor's line is unusual, and it connects to the access-control history elsewhere in this catalogue: the discipline that began at Cabletron and Enterasys now has a Polish vendor competing on the strength of a European directive.
