Vendor lineage

Parxtech

Sells the layer nobody photographs: cable, containment, power and the survey that decides where they go.

Parxtech was founded in São Paulo in 1992 to provide connectivity and information technology services, and describes itself as wholly Brazilian-owned with national delivery capability. Its lines are networking, structured cabling, CCTV, wireless intrusion prevention, electrical work and outsourcing.

That combination is worth pausing on, because it is a physical-layer business with a security product bolted on, and the two halves are more related than they look. Networking, cabling, CCTV and electrical are all site work - somebody measures a building, decides where things go, pulls cable through it and terminates both ends. Wireless intrusion prevention is the odd one out on paper and not in practice: detecting a rogue access point is a survey problem before it is a software problem, and the company already owns the ladder.

The electrical line is the detail that identifies the business type. A great many integrators stop at the patch panel. A company that will also do the power is selling to the person who has to make the room work, not to the person who has to make the network work - and those are frequently different people with different budgets, which is why most vendors' channel programmes have no idea how to categorise a company like this.

São Paulo, Brazil · Founders:

Parxtech was founded in São Paulo in 1992 to supply connectivity and information technology services, and describes itself as wholly Brazilian-owned with national delivery reach. Its work spans networking, structured cabling, closed-circuit television, wireless intrusion prevention, electrical installation and outsourcing - a combination that places it in the physical layer of a building rather than only its network. The electrical line is the distinguishing one: many integrators stop at the patch panel, and a company that will also do the power is selling to whoever has to make the room work rather than to whoever has to make the network work.

Founding year, ownership and service lines from the company's own site, which is the extent of the public record located. No founder names are published, and none are supplied here.
