2022 – present
Fortinet
From the NSE ladder to the trainer's chair, through a certification program reborn.
The Fortinet chapter is the fastest climb on this record: from the first NSE exams in 2022 to Fortinet Certified Trainer in 2024, five official courses in the teaching portfolio, and a front-row seat to the program's 2026 rebirth.
The NSE ladder, twice
The ladder was climbed once in 2022, NSE 1 through NSE 4 under the legacy program, then again as Fortinet reorganized certification into the FCF, FCA, and FCP tracks: Fundamentals and Associate in Cybersecurity, Professional in Network Security, with the FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and FortiAuthenticator administrator badges alongside. In 2024 came the credential that matters most to a teacher: Fortinet Certified Trainer.
Five courses and a program transition
As FCT, I deliver five official Fortinet courses across the FortiGate operating stack and its management plane. On July 15, 2026, Fortinet retired the FCP and FCSS era names and restored the eight-level NSE progression, converting active certifications forward, so this chapter's credentials now read NSE 1 through NSE 4 again, exactly where they began, one program generation later. The credentials page records that transition first-hand.
What it certified
Fortinet Certified Trainer (2025 – 2027). Current certifications: Fortinet NSE 4 in FortiOS, NSE 3 / NSE 2 / NSE 1 in Cybersecurity (2026 program, converted from FCP-NS, FCA, and FCF). Full detail on the credentials page.
