Grupo Binario - the Juniper integrator, and its training arm

Chose one vendor at founding and built a certification pipeline around it.

Grupo Binario was created in Sao Paulo in 2005 as a network integrator for the IP world, and it chose Juniper Networks at the start rather than assembling a multi-vendor catalogue. That decision defined everything after it: implementing networks for the major Brazilian telecommunications operators, and by 2015 being described as the largest Juniper integrator in the country with the highest number of certified engineers.

The group organised into divisions - Binario for integration and QoS for professional services, with a mobility division alongside them for a period - and reached around 160 staff across five branches, serving service providers, enterprises, government and education.

The single-vendor commitment is the part worth understanding. An integrator that spreads across vendors hedges its risk and dilutes its depth; one that commits gets the certifications, the escalation path and the awards, and accepts that its fortunes are tied to a manufacturer's. The awards followed - Services Partner of the Year 2017 for the Americas, and the partner tiers that only open above a certification threshold - and so did the exposure, when Juniper was later acquired.
