Vendor lineage

Segertech

Partner named for Extreme Networks in Brazil.

One of the Brazilian houses on the Extreme partner side. Entries like this matter to the record for a reason worth stating: the vendor is visible everywhere and the partner is the one who actually installs, configures and answers the phone, which is where most of a customer's experience of the product is decided.

Carries Gold Extreme partner status. The level matters more than it looks from outside: vendor tiers gate discount, lead access and which engineers may be certified, so a partner's grade decides what it can profitably sell before any conversation with a customer begins.

Segertech is the network arm of Grupo SEGER, a Florianopolis group whose core business is foreign trade - customs, freight and logistics - with bases in Sao Paulo, Parana and Minas Gerais and a subsidiary in the United States. A sister company has imported aircraft and parts since 2012. Segertech itself has been part of the group for more than fifteen years, and covers unified communications, digital security and wireless and cabled infrastructure.

That ownership is the clearest example in this catalogue of a pattern visible across several entries: in Brazil, selling network equipment has long meant solving an import problem first. TechDEC opened a Florida branch for it in 2004 and Grupo Binario runs a Miami warehouse for it. Segertech goes one step further - the integrator is owned by the freight company, rather than employing one.

It is an authorised centre in Brazil for the manufacturers it represents, with certified instructors and laboratory training, and supports the installed Ruckus base nationwide - an unusual reach for a firm of its size.
